Catherine Smith, PA
Catherine Smith is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She graduated from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University Physician Assistant program in Baton Rouge, LA in May of 2020. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014. Catherine moved to Houston for high school after growing up in several Midwestern states. She loves Texas and is excited to be working in mental health as she understands how integral it is to our well-being. She also enjoys cooking, especially all of the Cajun and Creole recipes she learned while living in Louisiana and trying all of the amazing unique cuisines that Houston has to offer. Additionally, she loves watching professional sports (and of course the Longhorns) and spending time with her fiancé and dog Mocha.

Faisal Tai, MD
Faisal Tai is a psychiatrist who is Board Certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed his pre-med at University of Houston, received his Doctor of Medicine from UMHS, and completed his Residency at University of Iowa. During his training, he was also the President of GME House Staff Council at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and introduced many programs to reduce physician burnout. Dr. Tai’s focus has been Schizophrenia, Mood Disorders, Personality disorder, Anxiety and OCD, Neuropsychiatry/Geriatric Psychiatry, Consult-Liaison Psychiatry, and Electroconvulsive Therapy. Dr. Tai currently is Medical Director of Geriatric Psychiatry at HCA Tomball Regional. He grew up in Houston and is glad to have returned to his community. He enjoys running, soccer, volleyball and golf.

Prior to earning her masters she worked as an emergency room nurse for 4 years. She has earned BSN in Nursing and a BSN in Psychology with a continued passion for mental health. She was born and raised in Houston, TX, where she currently resides in a small country town on the outskirts of Houston. She enjoys exploring new destinations with her 3 children, husband, and German shepherd Molly!

Amanda Ray is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has always been passionate about mental health and caring for others. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2008 with a BS in Human Development and Family Studies and continued on to Stephen F. Austin University where she completed her BSN in 2010. After that, Amanda worked as a staff nurse at Menninger for 9 years. Amanda decided to return to school to get her MSN, and graduated in 2018 with MSN in Psychiatric-Mental Health N.P. from University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Amanda was born and raised in Houston, TX, and currently lives in Conroe, TX. She enjoys spending time outdoors, running, and going for daily walks with her husband and the sweetest rescue pup ever, Reese!

Alina Burger holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a masters in social work- health with a focus on mental health.
