Catherine Smith, PA
Catherine Smith is a board-certified Physician Assistant. She graduated from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University Physician Assistant program in Baton Rouge, LA in May of 2020. She completed her bachelor’s degree in Human Biology from the University of Texas at Austin in 2014. Catherine moved to Houston for high school after growing up in several Midwestern states. She loves Texas and is excited to be working in mental health as she understands how integral it is to our well-being. She also enjoys cooking, especially all of the Cajun and Creole recipes she learned while living in Louisiana and trying all of the amazing unique cuisines that Houston has to offer. Additionally, she loves watching professional sports (and of course the Longhorns) and spending time with her fiancé and dog Mocha.

Faisal Tai is a psychiatrist who is Board Certified by American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He completed his pre-med at University of Houston, received his Doctor of Medicine from UMHS, and completed his Residency at University of Iowa. During his training, he was also the President of GME House Staff Council at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics and introduced many programs to reduce physician burnout. Dr. Tai’s focus has been Schizophrenia, Mood Disorders, Personality disorder, Anxiety and OCD, Neuropsychiatry/Geriatric Psychiatry, Consult-Liaison Psychiatry, and Electroconvulsive Therapy. Dr. Tai currently is Medical Director of Geriatric Psychiatry at HCA Tomball Regional. He grew up in Houston and is glad to have returned to his community. He enjoys running, soccer, volleyball and golf.

She was born and raised in Houston, TX, where she currently resides in a small country town on the outskirts of Houston. Amanda Ray is a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has always been passionate about mental health and caring for others. She graduated from Texas Tech University in 2008 with a BS in Human Development and Family Studies and continued on to Stephen F. Austin University where she completed her BSN in 2010. After that, Amanda worked as a staff nurse at Menninger for 9 years. Amanda decided to return to school to get her MSN, and graduated in 2018 with MSN in Psychiatric-Mental Health N.P. from University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. Amanda was born and raised in Houston, TX, and currently lives in Conroe, TX. She enjoys spending time outdoors, running, and going for daily walks with her husband and the sweetest rescue pup ever, Reese!

Leah Belsches is a licensed clinical psychologist. She grew up in Canton, Ohio and lives in Houston, Texas. She completed her undergraduate education at The Ohio State University where she majored in psychology and worked with atrisk populations. She obtained her masters of science degree from Virginia State University and her doctorate degree in clinical psychology at Xavier University. Dr. Belsches has extensive experience in trauma-focused therapy, suicidal ideation, self-harm, crisis intervention, first responding and group therapy. She works with clients in a variety of age groups, including adolescents and adults. She enjoys spending time with her family and adding to her list of international travel destinations, having visited several countries including Zambia, Dubai, Bulgaria, and China.

I graduated from Texas State University -San Marcos, in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology. I also received my Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Saint Edward’s University in 2014. My experiences in the mental health field began in 2005 when I volunteered as an advocate for victims of domestic violence at a women’s shelter. I then volunteered my time working with adults in an inpatient psychiatric unit. I fell in love with helping people after these two experiences and continued working over the years with adults in different settings, such as community mental health clinics, higher education, and private practice.
Currently, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Texas and use several evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Trauma Informed Therapy. I am also trained in EMDR. My main focus is working with adults experiencing depression, anxiety, PTSD, low self-esteem, feelings of shame and guilt, body perfectionism, life transitions, and stress management.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, bird watching, snorkeling the San Marcos River, and spending time with my friends and family along with my two cats.

Masood Jilani is a board certified Psychiatrist. He was born in Pilibhit, India. He attended Adamjee Govt. Mustafa Tai – After having a bi-cultural upbringing in Pakistan and USA, he graduated medical school from Jinnah Sind Medical University in Karachi, Pakistan with a decision to pursue Psychiatry. He completed his residency from Rosalind Franklin University in Chicago IL where he was involved in the care of both Military Veterans and Active Duty Navy personnel and Navy Recruits. He then received one year training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. He had held academic appointments as Assistant Professor at Tufts University SOM and Boston University Medical School. He brings with him an interest in high acuity patients and psychosis. Dr. Tai spent much of his childhood in Houston and has recently returned to serve his hometown. Enjoys volleyball, ultimate frisbee, cooking and exploring new places to eat.

She loves to learn and continuously obtain knowledge yet, also likes to have fun. Some of my favorite things to do are spending time with my family, dancing, reading and traveling. She has spent a majority of her career providing therapy to clients in inpatient psychiatric hospitals throughout the Houston area.
